The Best Dinner You Can Have on Island

Terrace dining up at Bluebeards Castle with the harbor laid out below, chef driven and less formal than the setting suggests. Reservations are required and the only way to get one is to call the resort and ask to be put through.

A proper Spanish mesón in the cobblestones of Palm Passage, open air and run by Randolph and Helga Maynard themselves. Tapas and entrée specials change daily and the sangria has a reputation around here.

Handmade pasta down an alley off Main Street, where Chef Ernesto Garrigos has been making the manicotti and ravioli by hand since 1988. Nearly forty years downtown and the sauces are still made one at a time.

Open air dining on the patio at Hotel 1829, French Caribbean with rum flights behind the bar and island chic as the dress code. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Friday nights bring live jazz.

A steakhouse on top of the hill at Paradise Point with the whole harbor laid out underneath you, which is most of what you are paying for and worth it. Dinner nightly, casual elegant, reservations by phone.

The hotel has been up on that hill since 1952 and the view has not gotten worse. Sol reopened the dining room in 2025 with fish and fungi, kallaloo, fresh caught lobster and a wine list that finally matches the room. Closed Tuesdays.

Upstairs in a historic building on Main Street, a small seafood and steak room with a raw bar and a Caribbean lobster mac and cheese that people come back for. Dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:30.
