THE RESIDENT BEHIND THE GUIDE
Hi, I'm April
I built this guide for the planners. You know the one, the person who ends up with forty tabs open sorting out where to eat, what's worth booking and whether you even need a car, while everyone else just shows up. That's usually me! So I made the guide I wish I'd had: one honest, all-in-one place to plan a St. Thomas trip without the overwhelm.
I didn't get here by accident. I studied marine biology, then left the States in 2016 to chase a life closer to the water: Madagascar, South Africa, Europe, the BVI and finally St. Thomas, going on eight years now. The ocean is my first love, so fair warning, a lot of my favorite recommendations lean that way. It's simply what I know best.
These days my husband and I run GoMojo Tender Rentals, so most of my days are still spent on the water, helping visitors sort out their trips. I also publish St. Thomas Magazine. So none of this is secondhand advice. It's where I'd send you myself.
Everything here is something I'd recommend as a resident, not because it pays the best. I earn a small commission on some of what I list, which keeps the guide going. It never changes what I tell you. If I wouldn't send my own friends there, I just leave it out.
There are 14,000 of us in the St. Thomas Visitor's Guide Facebook group, locals and travelers helping each other out. You're always welcome. So take a breath, the hard part's handled. Poke around, plan your days and let me save you the time. This one's on me.
