Halloween Events in St. Thomas 2026: Tips, Tricks & Treats
Halloween in St. Thomas 2026: Everything Happening This Month
Here's the thing about Halloween in the Caribbean. There are no leaves to crunch. Nobody owns a sweater. It'll be 86 degrees on October 31 and your face paint will be sliding down your chin by 7pm.
And St. Thomas goes for it anyway. Harder than you'd expect.
Three separate trunk or treats. A haunted house running three nights. A soca party that goes until 3am. An alcohol-free rave. A kids' camp at a resort so parents can go be terrifying somewhere else. Below is all of it, sorted by what kind of October you're having.
First....hold Halloween Night...
The most useful thing anybody can tell you about October 31 is this: do not lock in your plans yet. Sapphire Beach Bar throws the biggest Halloween party on this island every single year. As of right now they have not announced this one. They will. They always do, usually a couple of weeks out. When it drops it pulls the whole East End with it.
What it has been in past years: a DJ, a costume contest with real cash prizes, drink features running all night, plus the part that actually makes it worth waiting for... moko jumbies and fire dancers. Stilt walkers nine feet up in full costume, on the sand, in the dark, with fire going beside them.
A haunted house is a haunted house anywhere in America. Moko jumbies are ours. It's also the easiest night of the month logistically. Beach, bar, parking, food and the water right there. Nobody is driving across the island at midnight. So pencil in everything else and leave the 31st loose.
October: At a Glance
Twenty-two things happening between now and November 1. Here's the full run in order, then all the detail underneath, sorted by who you're bringing.
For the Kids...
Start here, because the kids' side of this month is the busiest it's been in a while.
The trunk or treat thing
Door to door trick or treating is rough on this island and everybody knows it. Steep roads, basically no sidewalks, houses spread way out along a hillside. So the community sorted it out the sensible way...everybody parks in one lot, decorates their trunks and the kids work the parking lot instead.
Three of them this year.

Howl-O-Ween at the Humane Society is the big one. Sunday October 25, 4–7pm, at 4012 New Herrnhut. Free to attend. Trunk or treat, games and prizes, food for sale, adoption spotlights and a volunteer drive. They're actively looking for families, businesses and church groups to host a trunk and fill the lot, so if you've got a car and twenty dollars of candy, that's a real contribution.
St. John Trunk or Treat runs Friday October 30, 4–7pm, at the Cruz Bay gravel lot.
VIPD Trunk or Treat is Saturday October 31, 12–3pm, in the Fort Christian parking lot. This one's a drive-thru, which is a smart move if you've got a toddler and a car seat and no patience for a parking lot in the midday sun. Want to register a trunk, call 340-514-8006.
Parties, Festivals and One Haunted House
Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Patch at Magens Bay, hosted by Fairchild's Beach Bar & Grill. Saturday October 10, 12–5pm. A pumpkin patch on a beach is a very USVI sentence and I love it.
Montessori Fall Fest and Halloween Movie Night. Saturday October 24. Fall Fest runs 3–6pm, then the movie starts at 6pm.
Fright Night at Joseph Sibilly Elementary School. Saturday October 24, 4–10pm. Haunted house, games and food. There's a free shuttle too. Tickets through the school.
Nightmare Manor at the Humane Society of St. Thomas campus. October 29, 30 and 31, 6–9pm. $20 adults, $5 kids. It moved off property last year. People complained. It's back home where it belongs. Info, tickets and volunteering: 340-473-6471 or hsstt.bod@gmail.com.
Kids Halloween Party at Emile Griffith Park. Saturday October 31, 2–7pm. Costumes, treat bags, food, drinks and music.
Rock City Rollers Halloween Skate Party at the Montessori School. Saturday October 31, 3pm to midnight. $10 entry, $5 skate rental, free candy and a costume contest. Info: 410-570-1001.
Or drop off the kids at Spooktacular Camp
Spooktacular Kid's Camp at The Westin St. Thomas, 5 Estate Bakkeroe. Saturday October 31, 5–9pm. Two ways in: $10 per child if you stay and supervise, open to all ages. Or $50 per child for the drop-off camp, ages 4 to 12.
The drop-off schedule is a proper production. Dress-up and a spider web maze at 5, spooky science at 5:30, pin the bow on the skeleton at 6, eyeball spoon relays at 6:30, monster crafts at 7, then Hotel Transylvania and popcorn at 7:30. Pickup at 9.
Limited spots and advance registration required. This is the only real babysitting option on the entire list, so if you want a night out on Halloween, book it now rather than the week of. Enroll at frenchmansreefstthomas.com/westin-events.
If you don't have kids or you've offloaded them for the night
This is where the island shows off.
R&B Masquerade Party at Muse USVI. Saturday October 17. $20 before 11pm, live DJs. Info: 404-272-8491. Masks on, grown folks music, a decent warm-up for the rest of the month.
Wine Pon Mi: 90's Lime at KAM Experience. Saturday October 24, 6pm to 1am, 21+. It's a 90s party rather than a Halloween one. The costume energy is the same and it benefits ElevateWi. Tickets on Eventbrite.
Socaween 2026: Chapter X at The Terrace at Muse. Saturday October 24, 9pm to 3am, 18+. This is the biggest confirmed night of the month. After Dark brings it back every year and this year's theme is the red balloon, so expect a sea of clowns and at least one person who committed way too hard. Soca, live performances, costumes. Tickets on Eventbrite.
Halloween Costume Party at Drink and Rave Tuesdays, Beehive in Subbase. Tuesday October 27. Entertainment by Selecta Ice. $300 for first place in the costume contest, $200 for second. If your costume is actually good, this is where it pays for itself.
Downtown Bar Crawl with Costume Contest in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Friday October 30, 6–11pm.
Sapphire Beach Bar on Halloween night, assuming they post it. See up top.
If you're not drinking....

Here's what makes it worth its own heading. The Vibery doesn't serve alcohol. The whole place runs on no booze, just vibes, so the drink specials on the flyer are mocktails.
A 21+ costume party with a DJ and no bar is a rare thing anywhere, let alone on an island that runs on rum. If you're in recovery, pregnant, driving, on medication or you simply would rather not spend Sunday November 1 face down in a dark room, this is the only thing on this entire list built for you rather than around you.
It's also just a good party. You're not being accommodated. You're the actual audience.
If you want dark, but quiet...
Not everybody's idea of spooky involves a DJ.
Virgin Islands Noir at Bajo el Sol Gallery, Mongoose Junction, St. John. Saturday October 17, 5pm. This is the new Akashic Books noir anthology, co-edited by Tiphanie Yanique of St. Thomas and Richard Georges of the BVI. Fifteen writers from across the US and British Virgin Islands, each one taking a specific neighborhood and setting something dark inside it. Crime, shadow and the version of these islands that doesn't make the brochure.
It's the most unsettling thing on this whole list and there isn't a fog machine within fifty miles of it. Worth the ferry.
If you need a costume or just want to make something nice...
Theater Makeup Masterclass at the St. John School of the Arts. Mondays October 12, 19 and 26, 4:30–6:30pm, $125. Three weeks of actual stage makeup instruction, timed perfectly for Halloween. If you've ever wanted your costume to look like somebody meant it, this is the one. It's also the smartest thing on this page for a climate where latex is a mistake and paint is the only costume that survives the night.
Spookyween Sip & Paint at Don Felito's Cookshop, bottom of Raphune Hill. Saturday October 17, 4–8pm. Built for kids. One Boo Pass $55, Boo Buddies Pass $95, Little Boo Pass for an extra child $15. Canvas, paint, apron, treats, all supplies included. Tickets are on Eventbrite ONLY.
Pumpkin Paint & Sip at The Roasted Coconut in Bovoni. Saturday October 17, 6–8pm. The grown-up version, with charcuterie and a drink included. Tickets on Eventbrite.
Both paint events land on the same Saturday, so pick a lane. Kids at 4, adults at 6. In theory you could do both if you're ambitious about traffic.
If food and drink is your vibe...

Boozy Brunch: Pick Your Poison at Cové Lounge, 5128 Dronningens Gade. Sunday October 18. Brunch runs 10am to 3pm, then the day party picks up 4–8pm with live entertainment. $55 for a three-course prix fixe, plus specialty cocktails with names like Toxic Waste, Blue Voodoo and Zombie Colada.
Reservations opened October 1 and the last one filled up, so call ahead: 340-209-4316.
How to actually do Halloween night
October 31st falls on a Saturday this year, which almost never happens and means you can stack the entire day if you want to.
That's a legitimate full day. Pace yourself, drink water and remember you're doing all of it in the heat with a painted face.
So that's October. No leaves. No sweaters. No porch light at five o'clock. And somehow more going on than most towns twice our size manage with all three.
Pick two or three things and leave room between them. Drink water. Set your makeup. And if you take one decision off this whole page, make it the one that keeps Halloween night open, because Sapphire is going to post and you'll want to already be free when they do.
Have fun out there. We'll be the ones melting.
Before you put the costume on...
Six things worth knowing, all learned the hard way.
It will be about 86 degrees. Latex, fur and anything with a second layer is a mistake you will regret by 8pm. Paint travels better than fabric here, which is exactly why that makeup masterclass fills up every year.
Set your makeup. Carnival people on this island swear by setting spray and powder for a reason. Without it you're a puddle inside an hour.
Bring cash. Several of these take cash at the door and service gets slow when a card reader is hunting for signal.
Check the cruise ship count for the 31st. A heavy ship day puts traffic through town at a crawl, which matters a lot if you're driving from the East End to Charlotte Amalie and back again.
Book the kids' camp now, not the week of. The Westin drop-off has limited spots and it's the only real babysitting option on this list.
Sort your ride home before you leave. Taxis get thin after midnight on a Saturday, especially heading east.
More than Halloween this month...
October's got plenty going on past the spooky stuff.
The Paradise Point Road Race up Flag Hill on the 17th, benefiting the Partners for Strings Youth Orchestra.
OysterFest at Cuvée in Frenchtown on the 11th.
The Top Shelf Mixology Masterclass at the Cardow Rum Room on the 17th with
Canvas & Cocktails at Lindbergh Bay the next day.
Bingo at The Shack on Tuesdays and flag football running through the end of the month.
